About This Tool
The Batch Watermark Remover attempts to remove watermarks from a PDF's content stream rather than simply overlaying a white block on top of them.
You provide the exact watermark text (e.g. "Confidential", "DRAFT"), and the tool searches each page's content stream for matching text-drawing operators and blanks them out. It can optionally also strip all image XObjects from a page.
This works best for simple, exact-match text watermarks. Image-based watermarks, watermarks rendered as vector paths or outlines, or text split across multiple positioning operators may not be fully removed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the purged watermarks be recovered?
Text that is matched and removed is rewritten out of the content stream rather than just visually covered. However, if the watermark text does not match exactly — for example if it is split across multiple operators or rendered as outlines — it will not be detected or removed at all.
Does it support complex gradients or vector watermarks?
No. This tool matches literal text strings in content streams and can optionally strip image XObjects. Vector-drawn watermarks such as paths or gradients are not detected or removed.
Will it modify normal page text?
The text search only targets strings matching your specified watermark text. However, if you enable image removal, all image XObjects on the page are stripped, not just watermark images.
